Google has issued a warning to users of Gmail and YouTube about a new phishing attack that could compromise their personal information. In the scam, hackers impersonate Google to send fraudulent emails or pop-ups, urging users to click on a link and enter personal information.

For the Gmail account phishing attack, users receive a message with the subject line “Online Reward Program” that claims they are the lucky winner of a prize. To claim the prize, users are required to click on a link and enter their personal information, which is then harvested by the attackers.

For the YouTube phishing attack, users receive emails from no-reply@youtube.com with subject lines such as “YouTube policy change” or “The YouTube team sent you a video.” These emails contain links to a fake login page that may lead to malware or harvest personal information.

Google advises users to be cautious and not respond to any unsolicited emails or pop-ups. They also recommend verifying any reward programs through trusted mainstream media outlets before assuming they are true. Users should be wary of messages that create a sense.
