Government supports 60 Basic School girls under “Girls in ICT Programme”

The Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communications (GIFEC), has rewarded 60 school girls who excelled at the 10th Edition of the National Girls in ICT training programme held in the Oti Region.

The girls were among 584 pupils in Basic Schools in the Region, who went through Mentorship Programmes in Information Communication Technology (ICT).

Speaking at the climax of the event at Nkwanta in the Nkwanta South Municipality, Minister for Communication, Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, said the initiative forms part of the Ministry’s strategic and systematic approach to encourage more girls and women to acquire digital skills and take up leadership roles in the IT industry.
