Gov't to support Kantanka Technology Center of Excellence

Government has pledged equal commitment to the activities of the ‘Kantanka Technology Center for Excellence’ in the manufacture of cars.
This comes after the Centre complained about government’s decision to allow German Car maker VW and Nissan to assemble cars in Ghana.
Speaking at the 38th Annual Technology Exhibition of the ‘Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana’ in Accra, Senior Minister Yaw Osarfo Marfo said whatever incentive made available to foreign companies, same will be given to the Kantanka Technology Center to thrive.
Senior Minister Yaw Osarfo Marfo said government’s aim of prioritising science and technology is inspired by the works of Apostle Kwadjo Sarfo.
Asantehene Otumfuor Osei Tutu who was the special guest of honour, joined hundreds of Ghanaians to celebrate the innovative works of the founder of Katanka Technology Center, Apostle Dr. Kwadjo Sarfo.
He told the gathering that efforts such as that of Apostle Kwadjo Sarfo needs to be appreciated and projected.
He pledged to give out a land for the establishment of a technology centre in Kumasi to aid the youth in learning skills.
Otumfuor bemoaned the importation of cars for the security services and asked that government liase with Kantanka to resource the security services with vehicles.
The 38th edition of the program saw the display of locally made V8 cars, pickups, three wheel drive and  armoured cars for the security services.
When he took his turn to address the gathering Apostle Kwadjo Sarfo said he will lead in making the country a science and technology hub. He called on educational institutions in the country to make their curriculum more practical in order to produce graduates with the  requisite skills.
The event which is organized every last Sunday of the year aims at showing the latest technological works of Apostle Dr Kwadjo Sarfo.
