GC3B ends with Ola Girls’ SHS winning top award

The Global Conference on Cyber Capacity Building has finally brought its curtains down at the Kempinski Hotel in Accra.

The two-day conference organized by the Government of Ghana with partnership from the Cyber Security Authority and the Ministry of Communication and Digitalisation and its foreign partners brought together government officials, Academia, cyber security experts and private sector players to brainstorm and discuss how to achieve cyber resilience in attaining development.

The conference was climaxed with the finals of the National Cyber Security Challenge.

The contest which was organised nationwide had its preliminary stages winners from four zones in the country to compete for the glory and grand prize.

The four finalists were Prempeh College, Navrongo Senior High, Wesley Girls Senior High and Ola Girls Senior High School.

At the end of the challenge, Ola Girls emerged winners clinging to the enviable title of Cyber security champions ahead of Wesley Girls and Prempeh College who came up tied at the second position.

The winning team took home an amount of Seven thousand Ghana Cedis (GHc7000) and souvenirs from various sponsors.

The Minister of Communication and Digitalisation who doubled as the host and Chairperson for the conference admonished the students to become Cyber security ambassadors to their peers and schoolmates.

She also charged their teachers to help nurture the students so they become adept to the new cyber trends and get vigilant of online criminal acts.

Navrongo Senior High School won the best School in the social media category.
