Parliament has approved to the controversial agreement between Fly Zipline and the Ghana Health Service for emergency health supplies by drones. The House had to resort to a head count after an intense debate.
First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Joseph Osei Owusu and Chairman of the Health Committee, Dr. Twum Nuamah, prior to the approval, made some amendments to the Committee’s report.
The Ranking Member on the Finance Committee, Cassiel Ato Forson in an interview said he was expecting the Vice-President to have come out to clarify the issue and not the Director of Ghana Health Services, Dr.Nsiah Asare.
Mr. Forson said per the 12 million dollar contract signed with Fly Zipline, the company would be making more than 600 percent profit at the taxpayers expense.
