1st batch of Operation 100 Boreholes commissioned in Ayensuano Constituency

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ayensuano Constituency in the Eastern Region, Teddy Safori Addi together with the National Democratic Congress, NDC Chapter in South Africa has commissioned and handed-over 10 filtered mechanized boreholes to ten communities in the Ayensuano constituency.

The initiative, which is sponsored by the NDC Chapter in South Africa, is the first batch of the ‘Operation One Hundred Filtered Mechanized Boreholes’ to communities in the Ayensuano Constituency, the MP promised his constituents.

In an interview, the Director-in-charge of International Relations of the NDC, Alex Segbefia, commended the effort of the NDC-South Africa for adopting the constituency and providing communities in the Constituency with potable drinking water.

Mr. Segbefia encouraged other chapters of the various parties in Ghana residing abroad to emulate the gesture of the NDC chapter in South Africa.

The Chairman of the Council of Elders of the NDC Chapter in South Africa, and the Chairman of Allied Consortiums based in South Africa, Benjamin Quarshie who is the brain behind the initiative noted that the gesture is part of their Corporate Social Responsibility  to help deprived communities in Ghana.

Mr. Quarshie reiterated that government or any individual can never develop the country alone but with a collective effort of everyone, the country can be developed.

The MP for Ayensuano Constituency, Mr. Safori Addi mentioned that one of the major challenge of the constituents especially during dry season is water and that came about the idea of operation one hundred boreholes to Ayensuano Constituency.

He mentioned that poor road networks and youth unemployment are the other challenges confronting the constituency.

The chiefs and members of the various communities expressed their gratitude to the MP as well as the NDC Chapter in South Africa.

The communities that benefited include Sowatey Newtown, KwadwoFosu-Yakoko, MarfoKrom, Amaadi, Bepoase, Kofi Pare among others.
