4 out of 8 confirmed DCEs in Oti Region

Four out of eight nominees for Municipal and District Chief Executives in the Oti Region, have been confirmed by their Assemblies.

They are William Mawugna Kidinang for Nkwanta North, Wilson Agbanyo for Kadjebi, Bright Kwame Lenwah, Nkwanta South and Elizabeth Adjornor for Jasikan. The Oti Regional Minister, Joshua Makubu, urged the new Municipal and District Chief Executives to hit the ground running to help transform the region.

All the eight nominees of President Akufo-Addo for the positions of Municipal and District Chief Executives (MDCEs) in the Oti Region are new entrants. At the Nkwanta South Municipal, the nominee Bright Kwame Lenwah polled 29 out of 43 votes representing 65%.

The nominee for Nkwanta North District, William Mawugna Kidinang had 15 out of the 22 votes representing 68%. 31 Assembly members out of the 37 at the Jasikan Municipal Assembly representing 83% endorsed Elizabeth Adjornor as the MCE. All the 45 assembly Members at the Kadjebi District Assembly confirmed Wilson Agbanyo as DCE. Mr. Agbanyo pledged to work hard to turn the fortunes of the district around but solicited support from all stakeholders to enhance the livelihood of people.

The Oti Regional Minister, Joshua Makubu advised the new MDCEs to discharge their duties devoid of party colours for rapid socio-economic development.

The Biakoye, Krachi Nchumuru and Krachi West District Assemblies and Krachi East Municipal Assembly are expected to hold their confirmation exercise within the week.
