Dagbon Forum elects Naa Sintaro Mahama as new President

The Dagbon Forum has elected Sakoya Naa, Sintaro Mahama as its new President at its National Congress held in Tamale yesterday, July 23, 2022.

Naa Sintaro, who stood unopposed, is taking over the mantle from Dr. Sulemana Abdulai.

Naa Sintaro promised his resolve to deepen cohesion among sons and daughters of Dagbon and other groups.

He advised the youth to desist from politicizing events and matters related to Dagbon.

Participants defied the morning rains and trooped to the Bagabaga College of Education, BATCO, for the National congress which was chaired by Director-General of GBC, Professor Amin Alhassan.

The forum was attended by sons and daughters of Dagbon including Members of Parliament and Municipal and District Chief Executives.

The election of new National Executives took place during the second session of the Congress.

The elected officers include Yahaya Sulemana- 1st Vice President, Rosina Zainab Abdul-Rahman- 2nd Vice President, Ahmed Abdul-Razak – General Secretary, Osman Kamaldeen- Deputy General Secretary, Mohammed Osman Neindow -National Organiser and Umar Abdul-latif – Deputy National Organiser.

The President Elect of Dagbon Forum, Naa Sintaro Mahama, was grateful to the forum for reposing confidence in him.

He said the unity of Dagbon kingdom is paramount and it therefore behooves on everyone to protect the fragile peace to promote development.

Former Managing Director of Stanbic Bank, Alhassan Andani, who is the Chief of Pishigu, called for the promotion of educational in the kingdom.

Overlord of Dagbon, Ya Na Abukari Mahama

The Overlord of Dagbon, Ya Na Abukari Mahama advised various Dagbon groups to desist from causing contention among themselves.

He called for fair representation of all tribes of Dagbon in the leadership drive for all to enjoy universal acceptance.
