The government of Denmark is collaborating with stakeholders in Ghana’s food and trade sectors to help reduce food losses in the country.

Through a global movement dubbed “The better food for more people” the Danish government hopes to reduce global Capita food waste by half.

The movement will unleash the full potential of gastronomy as a tool to provide critical leverage and enable stakeholders to better understand food losses from farm to fork.

The project is targeted at reaching the sustainable development goal target 12:3, by 2030 which seeks to address global food waste at the retail and consumer levels and reduce food losses along the production and supply chain including post harvest losses.

Denmark’s Ambassador to Ghana, Tom Norring in a statement to open the seminar said “The SDG’s are nothing if they are not put into reality’.

He called for more partnerships from the farm to fork to reduce food losses in Ghana. He said sustainable solutions are a key component for economic growth.
