Dzifa Gomashie ‘bags’ 84,000 votes plus to win Ketu seat

The former Deputy Tourism and Creative Arts Minister under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration has won the Ketu South Parliamentary seat for the NDCas the first female MP elected.

Abla Dzifa Gomashie pulled 84,664 of the total vote cast at 279 polling stations in Ketu South Constituency.

The NPP candidate, David Tiahno managed just 14,904, GUM candidate had 836 and LPG obtained 213.

Total vote was 102,393, valid vote cast was 100,228 and 1,562 votes were rejected.

For the presidential election, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) obtained 10,949, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) 86,582 votes from the 98,986 total valid vote cast with 102,237 total votes cast and 3,251 votes rejected.

Other candidates are: GUM: 741, CPP: 91, GFP:30, GCPP:29, APC:62, LPG:45, PNC:45, PPP:76, NDP:266, IND: 80
