The Senior Pastor of the Impact Bible Church has asked government to take seriously the need to assist deprived communities in order to help the poor live meaningful lives and become relevant to their families and the nation as a whole.
Rev. Andrew Jeremiah Nai-Mensah observes that, even though society is doing its part to assist the poor, more needs to be done and the government must widen its network to reach those with real challenges and needs.
He made this observation on Tuesday at Hoffnung Academy, Okwenya, Somanya during a donation exercise by Children and Teens In Worship (CTIW) foundation as part of efforts by the foundation to set up a computer lab for the school.
Receiving the items on behalf of Hoffnung Academy, Rev. Nai-Mensah observed, “Most people are not lazy but don’t know how to go about this life, many wants to educate themselves but do not have the means if we come together to ensure that everybody gets quality education that would help.”
Responding to whether Ghana had prioritised support for the needy, he said nobody is ready to go to the rural areas where people have real needs, “So if we really want to meet the needs of the needy then we must move to such communities”.
In that regard, he asked government to consider private providers of education by making it easy for them to do their work so they would widen the net in helping to provide education to everybody.
Rev. Nai-Mensah also urged the clergy to invest in education, asking them to “give scholarships to some of these young ones so that they would have a better future.”
As part of the donation, CTIW presented tables, a digital board, computers, bicycles and some toys to the Academy.
CTIW is a foundation that has been at the forefront of providing assistance to needy communities and institutions in mostly rural communities in Ghana.
Their educational outreach programs have sent them to numerous schools in Ghana where they have supplied furniture, computers, and other items to some deprived schools to aid in education delivery in the nation.
