Oman Fofor Trading Company Limited has taken up Apple’s distribution role in Ghana.
The role, according to the General Manager of the company, is to bring quality and original Apple products to Ghanaians to make sure that people are given original products backed by the Apple warranty, which is 24 months.
In an interview, Abass Gull said having authorised distribution from Apple will offer Ghanaians the opportunity to purchase original products and get after sales support.
“Apple has been around in the system, but it is coming through all sorts of unauthorized channels, which are not properly backed by a proper warranty and after sales support. We have authorized distribution from Apple itself, and we are bringing the product to the country with all authorized sources. So all our products are covered by the Apple warranty, which is 24 months, and we are also offering six months liquid and glass screen protection.”
He said this during a showroom display of products in Accra.
Mr. Gull cautioned Ghanaians to be wary of fake products and encouraged the public to visit the store for reliable, quality and after sales service.
“We would request that they come have a feel and touch of all our products that we’re selling; they are on display. We are also giving a seven and a half percent discount from 18 to 26. So we want Ghanaians to come around to have a touch, experience the quality, and make a purchase.”
“I will plead with all customers that they should verify the source of the product’s originality and where it comes from before they make a decision to purchase. Apple has a serial number. Every Apple product comes with a unique serial number. Okay, it will be interesting for them to do a verification of that serial number, whether it is really covered by warranty. Apple also has an authorized service center in Ghana, so as long as the product is bought from Oman Fofor, which is an authorized reseller for Apple products, we have a service center called Ensure Services. So as long as you have bought the product from us, you will take our invoice and the product there if there is a problem. Either it will be resolved, it will be serviced, or it will be replaced.”
He also underscored the need to spend little money on the best products amidst what he described as “hard times”.
“Times are really hard, tough for everyone. We are trying to make sure that we make very little margins. We provide the best prices possible to our customers. We provide them with the best support that is possible. We are giving them products that they really need so that we don’t have to spend more money buying products again and again. So we are trying our best to provide the best price with the best product that is available to suit the customer’s needs.”
He further added that the attachment to Apple products is a big milestone, and Oman Fofor is committed to delivering on expectations.
“It’s a big milestone for us that we are now attached to Apple product and there is a lot of expectations from us that we will as much as Apple is a well known company we will provide them the the local support in terms of the quality and the brand that they are. They are known to be in the world. So there is a lot of expectations from Oman Fofor but we are confident with our team together. We shall provide all Apple products and services in the manner that they are expecting.”
