The Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church, Ghana, Most Reverend Dr. Paul Boafo, says the death of former President Jerry John Rawlings, must unite the nation, particularly the NDC more than ever, as the country prepares to go to the polls.

According to him, the temporary halt of Political campaigning by the two major Parties is a good sign of unity.

The Most Rev. Dr.Boafo, was speaking in an interview with Radio Ghana, at a Valedictory Service held in honour of the outgoing Lay President of the Conference, Brother Bernard Kwasi Botwe at the Wesley Cathedral in Kumasi.

The Lay President is the third most powerful person of the church, beside the Presiding and Administrative Bishops.

The Church observed a minute silent and prayed for the family of the departed former President
