Update: Ambulance driver shot by Highway robbers in Eastern Region dies

The Driver of the Ambulance who was shot in the eye by Highway Robbers on the Somanya-Adukrom road has died.

The Senior Emergency Medical Technician Abraham Tetteh, was transporting a pregnant woman in labour from the Akuse Government Hospital to the Eastern Regional Hospital in Koforidua.

The late Abraham Tetteh, was the Yilo Krobo Municipal Officer in charge of the National Ambulance Service.

Confirming the news to GBC’s Radio Ghana, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Ambulance Service, Prof. Ahmed Nuhu Zacharia, said Mr. Tetteh passed on this morning while receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.

He said, the family of the deceased have been informed and awaiting autopsy.
