The Institute for Democratic Governance, IDEG has called on African leaders to pursue a people-centered and planet sensitive transformational programme, to achieve the 2030 agenda for Sustainable Development Growth.

In a statement signed by the Executive Director of the Institute, Dr. Emmanuel Akwetey to commemorate AU Day today (May 25), it said the 56th anniversary of the AU should lead to effective and efficient cooperation between member states to create economic opportunities especially for the youth.

This it says, will ensure they remain on the continent and contribute towards the development of the continent.

The statement adds that the agenda to transform Africa  must place premium on ensuring the Africa Continental Free Trade Agreement is actualised.
