Authorities in Sierra Leone have started implementing a one-month ban on fishing in the country’s territorial waters, in addition to halting of exports by major fishing companies, in a bid to shore up stocks.
A statement from the Fisheries Ministry said the government also decreed an April one to 30 to halt exports by major fishing companies “to protect fish stock from depletion”.
