The White House has announced a meeting between President Donald Trump and his Kenyan counterpart later on the  27th of this month.
An official statement said the meeting will look to discuss ways to broaden the two countries’ strategic partnership based on shared democratic values and mutual interests.
The two presidents will also hold talks on trade, investment and security cooperation.
Kenya and Ethiopia are seen as crucial to U.S. counter insurgency combat in the East Africa region.
While describing Kenya as a vital partner to the U.S, the statement stressed that the meeting will also reaffirm the long standing relationship between the United States and Kenya as a cornerstone of peace and stability in Africa and the broader Indo-Pacific region.
Mr Kenyatta, who won a final term in office after disputed elections in 2017 will become the third African President to visit the White House under Donald Trump.
The first was Egypt’s Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi followed by Nigeria’s Muhammadu Buhari.
