The Ghana Culture Forum has culminated its celebration of Ghana Culture Week at the Omanye Aba Hall, AMA Office Complex in Accra.

Culture Week is a flagship event of the Ghana Culture Forum aimed at commemorating Ghanaian culture and its role in national development. It was inaugurated in 2012 on March 14 and is observed annually through activities such as symposiums on relevant themes and artistic emporiums to showcase our cultural expressions.

The theme for this year’s program was “Cultivating Cultural Capital: Nurturing Ghana’s Legacy for Africa’s Renaissance.” The Ghana Culture Week 2024 featured a symposium and presentation of the Africa Fashion Report.

Special guests of honour included Stephen Asamoah Boateng, Minister of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs; Nana Kwasi Gyan-Apenteng, Media Communication and Cultural Consultant; and Chief Moomen, a poet, playwright, creative entrepreneur, and creator of the Mansa World.

Mr. Asamoah-Boateng emphasized the Ghanaian government’s commitment to implementing policies and initiatives that promote and sustain Ghana’s development.

He stressed the importance of collaborating with local communities, cultural institutions, and international partners to safeguard Ghana’s cultural heritage, support artisans and craftsmen, and showcase Ghana’s diversity on the global stage.

Mr. Asamoah-Boateng called on all stakeholders, including governmental agencies, civil society organizations, and the private sector, to join hands in safeguarding and promoting Ghana’s cultural heritage, emphasizing the need to celebrate differences and embrace shared heritage for a future where culture thrives as a source of inspiration, pride, and prosperity for all.

“Inherited culture must unify all of us—Christians, Muslims, and Traditionalists alike,” he concluded.
