Global Citizen bringing ‘Move Afrika’ 2024 campaign to Ghana

Ghana is set to join Rwanda as a host nation for the “Move Afrika: A Global Citizen Experience” tour in 2024.

Kendrick Lamar headlined the campaign in Rwanda on December 6, 2023, and now the initiative is coming to Ghana.

The announcement was made on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, on the Global Citizen page on X. Collaborators for the event include Ghana’s President Nana Akufo-Addo and PGLang, an American independent multidisciplinary creative communications company.

“Accra, did you miss us? We have some good news: together with President @NAkufoAddo and @pglang, we’re bringing #MoveAfrika to Ghana! Accra will join Kigali, Rwanda, as a host city for the Move Afrika: A Global Citizen Experience tour in 2024,” the post read.

The Move Afrika: Ghana initiative aims to drive economic investment in the Ghanaian entertainment industry and is part of the broader Move Afrika campaign, seeking to establish an international music touring circuit across Africa.

The event saw great performances from Ghanaian artistes Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Yaw Tog, Kwesi Arthur and Gyakie.
