Cabinet approves installation of solar energy devices in all public institutions to cut pressure on the national grid.

All public institutions including the Jubilee House and Parliament House will soon be using solar energy as government seeks to reduce pressure on the national grid as well as reduce the cost of energy debt on its budget.

 

Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia

Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, who made this known, indicated that Cabinet has given approval and feasibility studies have already began to assess the viability of this project.

In the same light, Vice President Bawumia tasked the Energy Commission to fast track modalities on the mini grid project which will see energy supply to rural areas.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia made these remarks at the opening of the 4th Ghana Renewable Energy Fair in Accra.
