The Electoral Commission (EC), says it is ready to conduct the elections for the creation of the six new regions on the 27th of this month.

All logistics including stationery, biometric machines and other election related materials have been dispatched to all the 4,798 polling stations in the referendum enclaves.

At a media briefing in Accra, Chairperson of the EC, Mrs. Jean Mensah stated that total security will be provided by the security services on the day of the whole exercise.

Voters in the regions who will participate in the 27th referendum will be expected to vote for or against set questions.

Mrs. Jean Mensah exphasised that voting will start at exactly 7.00am devoid of any hitches and close at 5.00pm. Counting of ballot begins immediately after the close of the polls.
