The Accra City Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church has launched the 2026 Missionary Book of the Year, Words of Hope: Stories of Everyday Living, as part of the global church initiative, marking the beginning of an ambitious evangelism and community outreach campaign.

The Christ-centered publication, largely inspired by Ellen G. White’s Christ’s Object Lessons, is designed to share practical hope and everyday faith experiences with both church members and the wider public.

In Accra, the initiative has already moved beyond the pulpit into the streets.

Members of the church have taken to offices, banks, and public spaces, distributing copies of the book as part of a global missionary drive aimed at making faith both visible and accessible. The effort reflects a broader vision of evangelism, one that meets people in their daily environments and speaks directly to real-life challenges.

The book “Words of Hope: Stories of Everyday Living” is described by the Communication Director of the Accra City Conference (Elorm John Edison Agbenorto) as a “silent preacher” – it is more than a devotional text. It is positioned as a tool for engagement, conversation, and transformation, bridging the gap between doctrine and daily living.

President of the Accra City Conference of SDA, Timothy Yeboah

The President of the Accra City Conference of SDA, Timothy Yeboah, says the outreach has been warmly received across institutions visited. According to him, the exercise has not only facilitated distribution but also created meaningful interactions with the public.

He explains that many recipients expressed genuine interest, with some immediately engaging with the book, while others sought further understanding of its message and the church’s beliefs.

Beyond handing out books, the outreach has opened doors for deeper engagement, offering encouragement, answering questions, and inviting individuals to continue the conversation with church leaders.

Publishing Director of the Accra City Conference of the SDA, Pastor Moses Kenu

Adding to this, the Publishing Director of the Accra City Conference of the SDA, Moses Kenu, notes that the initiative aligns with the church’s global directive to ensure widespread access to the Missionary Book of the Year.

He emphasizes that the programme is a coordinated effort to mobilize members worldwide to actively participate in evangelism through literature distribution.

Church leaders say the book’s message, rooted in the teachings of Ellen G. White, centers on hope, practical Christianity, and everyday faith, making it relatable to a broad audience regardless of background.

They believe such initiatives not only spread the gospel but also strengthen community bonds through simple, human-centered interactions.

As the campaign gathers momentum, the Accra City Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist is aiming to reach thousands across communities, reinforcing its mission to share a message of hope, faith, and transformation in 2026 and beyond.
