Bunso M/A JHS wins 4th edition of Kingsley Maths and Science Quiz

The Bunso M/A JHS has emerged victorious with 48 points, beating Akosua Agyeiwaa Methodist JHS who had 40 points and the Kibi Presbyterian College of Education, KPCE Demonstration JHS who also had 40 points to win the fourth Edition of the Kingsley Maths and Science Quiz for Junior High Schools.

In a similar contest, the Asiakwa R/C Primary who got 54 points beats Akosua Agyeiwaa Methodist Primary who managed to get 44 points and Kibi MA Primary School who had 40 points to win the 3rd edition of the Kingsley Spelling Challenge for Primary Schools in the Abuakwa South Municipality of the Eastern Region.

The Competition organized by Kingsley Quizzes  aims to help prepare pupils in the Municipality to excel in the Basic Education Certificate Examination.

The competition started from the preliminary with all the 73 public and private basic schools in the Abuakwa South municipality with the three schools in the Primary and JHS progressing to the grand finale at the Kibi Presbyterian College of Education to contest for the major trophy.

In an interview with GBC Sunrise FM at Kyebi, the founder of Kingsley Quizzes who doubles as the Executive Director of the Ghana Scholarship Secretariat and an NPP Parliamentary Hopeful for Abuakwa South Constituency, Dr. Kingsley Kwame Agyemang, noted that his motivation to organize such competition for pupils at the basic level is to help nurture the seeds of the future.

Dr. Agyemang added that the tenacity of the mind when properly developed, can be a priceless, endless and valuable asset to the country.

He spoke about an upcoming programme, Kingsley Readaphone contest, where pupils at the lower primary schools in the Municipality will compete in a reading, comprehension, summary and spelling contest.

In an interview, the Abuakwa South Municipal Education Director, Comfort Ofori-Appiah noted that the competition has helped the municipality to train their BECE candidates. She is of the belief that the competition will help to boost the performance of the BECE candidates in the upcoming examination.

Madam Ofori-Appiah showed her gratitude to Dr. Kingsley Kwame Agyemang for organizing such competition for the pupils.

Spelling Challenge

The winning school for the Spelling Challenge for Primary Schools, Asiakwa R/C Primary School Contestants showed their coaches and head teacher for the support. They also appreciated the effort of Dr. Kingsley Kwame Agyemang for organizing such a competition for them.

For the Primary category, the winners, Asiakwa R/C Primary took home one thousand cedis for each of the contestant and one thousand five hundred for their school and a trophy, the first Runner-up, Akosua Agyeiwaa Methodist Primary received five hundred cedis for each contestant and one thousand cedis for their school, while the second runner-up, Kibi MA Primary received three hundred cedis for each contestant and five hundred cedis for their school. 

At the JHS level, the winning school, Bunso M/A JHS received two thousand cedis for each contestant and three thousand cedis for their school and a trophy, with both KPCE demonstration JHS and Akosua Agyeiwaa JHS being at par, receiving one thousand cedis for each contestant and two thousand cedis for each school respectively.

In addition, all the 18 contestants and the six coaches from all the schools that appeared at the grand finale received a laptop computer each.
