Fire Service inaugurates first batch of Fire Safety Task Force

The First Batch of Fire Safety Task Force to ensure a fire free community and environment has been  inaugurated in Accra. 

Inaugurating the Task Force, the Greater Accra Regional Commander Assistant Chief Fire Officer Grade One (ACFO I ) Roberta Aggrey Ghanson urged the team to avoid any negative attitude that will tarnish their personal images and that of the Ghana National Fire Service.

Among other things, the 17-member team will educate, ensure checks and balances, enforce the services LI 1724 which touches on fire precautions and regulations,  a fire free community, a  Fire Free environment as well as a fire free Ghana. 

The  Head of Safety at the Regional Headquarters also the Head of the Safety Task Force, DO I Evans Osei Owusu said the initiative will open doors for more to follow to ensure the fire free Ghana, the Ghana National Fire Service wants to achieve. 

The Greater Accra Regional Commander ACFO I Roberta Aggrey Ghanson said the greatest desire of the Service is to ensure undesired fires in the country. 

ACFO I Aggrey Ghanson charged them to exhibit professionalism at all times and collaborate with one another to ensure that their mandate as Safety Task Force are met. 

According to ACFO I Aggrey Ghanson, the team should embraces any challenges that may come their way. 

“Without challenges there is no innovation” Let ensure that our schools, homes and environment are all safe for use. It is the wish of management to record zero fires in the country” ACFO I Roberta Aggrey Ghanson said.

The First Batch of Fire Safety Task Force were drawn from the various fire stations within the Command. 

This is the first batch out of Five Batches. The first batch of the Safety team comes with 2 monitors to oversee to the affairs of the team. The team will be divided into 3 groups and work is expected to commerce soon.
