Government has allocated 13 million Ghana cedis for the construction of footbridges along the Madina-Adentan Highway next year (2019).
This comes after residents of Madina, Adentan and their environs in Accra sent a notice to stage a demonstration to register their displeasure with government’s failure to complete footbridges on the roads.
The situation has led to needless loss of lives, especially pedestrians who get knocked down by vehicles while crossing the six-lane road.
A Board member of the Ghana Highways Authority, Senyo Hosi told GBC’s Radio Ghana that the money will be used to complete the footbridges to help save lives.
