The Chiefs and People of Gbawe and Gbawe Gonse in the Weija-Gbawe Municipality have called for government’s intervention in helping to curb the rising wave of land guard activities in the area, since it is affecting development.

Addressing journalists at Gbawe, Acting Head of the Gbawe Kwatei family, Isaac Nii Laryea Quartey said so intense are the activities of the land guards that they are creating friction between the people of Gbawe, Gbawe Gonse and Weija.

He said several complaints made to the Police have yielded little or no fruits.

The Chief of Gbawe Gonse, Nii Mensah Kwashie, said Gbawe and Gbawe Gonse do not fall under Weija as some of the land guards make people to believe as searches at the Lands Commission do not indicate so.
