The National Identification Authority (NIA) has suspended its mass registration exercise in the Ashanti Region from today (December 24) to Sunday, 29th December 2019.

The break will enable the Authority to address a number of operational issues affecting the printing and issuance of cards in the Region.

It will also allow registration officials, who have been in eleven (11) Regions of the country undertaking the mass registration exercise since April 2019, to join their families for the festivities.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Head of Corporate Affairs of the Authority  Francis Palmdetti.

Accordingly, the mass registration exercise in the Ashanti Region will resume on Monday, December 30, 2019, and continue till Friday, January 10, 2020, excluding 1st and 7th January 2020 which are statutory public holidays.
