NUGS President donates relief items to flood victims

The National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS), as part of its mandate to cater for the welfare of the over 12.5 million Ghanaian Students embarked on a mission to support the flood-induced victims in the North and Central Tongu districts.

The President of NUGS , Kyeremeh Oppong Daniel, together with his National Officers and selected Volunteer Teachers from NUGS’ respective institutions arrived at Adidome in the North Tongu District to join the initial team of volunteers dispatched on grounds in the Central and North Tongu Districts December 6, 2023.

The objective of the Union is to continue its volunteer teaching project to assist these young displaced students to catch up with the curriculum and propel their academic endeavors.
The leadership also sent some relief items containing books, clothes, food, drinks, and other stationery.

The Union is working hard to provide them with the help and resources they need during this challenging time. The President during his presentation of the items expressed concerns about the livelihoods of students in the flood induced communities and called for an all hands on deck approach to cause a great deal of difference.

“Together, we can make a difference and bring hope to those affected”, he said.

He also expressed his appreciation to all and sundry who supported their endeavor, especially the 3 foundations, and called for more support going forward.
