The Accra Regional Police Command has impounded more than 600 motorbikes in a special operation to clamp down on traffic offenders.
While some of the motorbikes were impounded for flouting road traffic regulations, others were seized for having no insurance cover, and the rest having issues of ownership.
Public Relations Officer of the Accra Regional Police Command, DSP Efia Tenge in an interview said that the next stage of the operation is to prosecute owners of impounded motorcycles, adding that, the exercise will be replicated in all the District Police Commands in Accra until the spate of road offences are brought under control.
