Police warns public on social media crimes

The police has once again warned the public about some criminal activities being committed by faceless people through social media.

The police in a statement dated November 7, 2019, and posted on its Twitter Handle, said their investigations and monitoring on social media has revealed that a significant upsurge of fake social media accounts are being created particularly through Facebook messages, WhatsApp etc.

The statement which was signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police, David Eklu is cautioning the public to be vigilant especially social media users of such faceless people

The public is therefore encouraged the public to contact the nearest police station of any suspected criminal activity on social media.
