The National Road Safety Commission (NRSC), says though there are trained volunteers to provide first aid to accident victims, where they would be located or stationed is the challenge.

Speaking to GBC’s Radio Ghana, the Public Relations Officer of the NRSC, Kwame Atuahene, said the Commission has set up first aid centres to serve as emergency posts across the country to assist victims of road accidents.

Mr. Atuahene said these centres will be managed by the trained volunteers who will assist accident victims to prevent needless deaths.

Some areas where these centres are located are Asuboi, Bunso Junction, Asankare and Juaso on the Accra-Kumasi Highway; Toje, near Kasseh, and Nogokpo on the Accra-Aflao highway; and Okyereko and Gomoa Ankamu, near Apam Junction, on the Accra-Takoradi highway.
