Road safety has become a national concern. Every now and then, many people lose their lives and properties as a result of negligence in road safety.

To help curb this menace, the Samuel White Foundation has been launched to promote it on our roads.

Speaking to the media, the Team Leader for the foundation, Mr Samuel White, explained that his passion for road safety inspired him to put up this foundation. He stated that his strong advocacy for road safety has gathered a lot of support, hence the need to expand it.

He continued that his passion is driven by some of the accidents he has witnessed on the roads and the unfortunate loss of lives he has seen, coupled with the backing of the appropriate authorities.

He entreated all Ghanaians, especially drivers, to ensure compliance with all safety precautions for the safety of road users.

The Planning Manager for National Road Safety in Greater Accra, Mr Felix Owusu, added that though the number of road crashes has reduced this year as compared to last year, he still believes the numbers are high and that road users should contribute to further reduction.

Some of the drivers who were present shared their experiences with the media.

Abdul Razak.

Mr Abdul Razak thanked the Samuel White Foundation for putting up the program, which is very educational. He advised drivers to obey the road signs to ensure safety on the roads.
