UNICEF in collaboration with Center for Democratic Development (CDD–Ghana) and the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development will launch the 2018 District League Table Report today (June 18).
The Report ranks the districts in terms of their delivery across six key public service indicators such as Health, Education, Security, Water, Sanitation and Governance, and the rankings are done annually, based on information provided from the districts themselves.
Chief of Social Policy and Evidence at UNICEF Ghana, Yoshimi Nishino at a meeting ahead of the launch said the League Table serves as a tool to strengthen social accountability in Ghana’s developmental efforts.
She noted that the report creates awareness among policy makers to further engage citizens to enhance service delivery in their areas.
Madam Nishino said the Table used indicators that measured social development especially around service delivery.
