Ghanaians are today observing Easter Monday which is the last holiday for the Easter festivities.

The day is characterized by picnics, passing time at the beach and other outdoor events for the relaxation of holiday makers.

To avert promiscuity associated with the holiday and sometimes drowning recorded at beaches, some Churches will today organize special get together events as a way of bonding with their members.

Easter Monday over the years has been reserved for relaxation and engaging in outdoor activities such as picnics, carnivals and other get together events.

Celebrants use the holiday to round up weekend long religious activities of Easter.

The day witnesses a high rate of patronage of event venues like the beach, pubs, parks and gardens, hotels and many others. It also translates into the surge in patronage of food items.

However some traders say sales have not been encouraging this Easter season due to economic challenges.

Refreshingly, this year’s Easter Monday is being observed without Covid-19-imposed restrictions since the outbreak of the pandemic. I found out from a cross section of the public the plans for the celebration this year. For some men, it is time to take over the kitchen.

The easing of covid-19 restrictions this year is likely to highly get holiday makers hyper active and over excited in their celebrations.

However, health experts have warned that the country is not out of the woods yet, with regard to the covid19 pandemic.

Therefore, caution and moderation are the watch words for this Easter Monday.
