Another attack on Keta MP Kwame Gakpey; police commence investigation

The Agbozume District Police Command have commenced investigation into gun attacks allegedly on the property belonging to the Member of Parliament (MP) for Keta, Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpey.

The latest attack which was carried out by unknown persons during the early hours of the 19th April, 2022 has landed the security guard (name withheld) on duty at the time of the incident in Hospital following multiple gun wounds inflicted on him.

He is reported to be currently responding to treatment at the Abor/Weme Secret Catholic Hospital.

In less than two years in Office as an MP, Mr. Gakpe and his business have come under serious attacks, the latest being the 5th on his LPG Filling Station near Agbozume, within Ketu South Municipality.

The Agbozume District Commander, ASP John Adiaba who confirmed the incident to gbcghanaonline.com said, that, his men have visited the crime scene and the victim at the Hospital, and they have commenced investigations but, “the document has been sent to the Regional Headquarters, Ho for action’.

According to the MP, the security man on duty called him “this dawn about 4am and complained of gun wounds”, and “I’ve dispatched people to the scene and they took him to the hospital”.

In an interview, Mr. Gakpey said it was at hospital that, ”three people appeared from nowhere as if they wanted to buy LPG”, he got out to assist, but, ”was shot in the process”.

Meanwhile, a contact at the Hospital has confirmed the incident.

The MP has since been asked to undergo X-Ray Examination for medical treatment.
