Ghana has recorded 340 new cases of the novel coronavirus taking the country’s tally to 42,653.

The country’s number of active cases is now 1,949.

According to the Ghana Health Service (GHS), 229 persons have recovered after contracting the virus. This takes the total number of recoveries to 40,796.

In its latest update, the GHS said nine more persons have died, bringing the country’s death toll to 248.
