The Bantamahene Baffour Amankwatia who led a delegation from the Traditional Council to the University to assess the extent of damage was appalled at the situation and called for cool heads while asking politicians to desist from using the unfortunate to score political points.
Meanwhile, the University Teachers Association of Ghana, UTAG has urged government and other relevant stakeholders to exercise restraint in calling for the head of the Vice Chancellor of KNUST,  Professor  Kwasi Obiri-Danso.
According to the President of UTAG, Eric Opoku Mensah series of decisions that culminated in the violent protests were not taken unilaterally by the Vice Chancellor.
Speaking on Behind the News, Prof. Opoku Mensah said there are procedures to be followed, should the Vice Chancellor choose to resign or is removed.
