Two Hundred and Twelve (212) Female Police recruits have successfully passed out after 28 weeks of basic police training at the Kpalugu Training School in the Upper East Region. The recruits were charged to exhibit a high sense of civility and professionalism in their line of duty.

The All-Female recruits are the second batch of the 2022 recruits from the Upper East Region. They underwent field and practical training in riding, swimming, crowd control, incident and disaster management among many others geared towards equipping the trainees with modern policing skills sets to deal with crime and criminals.

The Review Officer, COP Frederick Adu Anim admonished the recruits to establish good relationship with the public so that they can willingly volunteer information to them whenever there is the need.

“To every crime that is committed, there is one public eye that sees it. The public will be prepared to volunteer information on criminals to the police if there is good relationship with the public.” he noted.

COP Frederick Adu Anim said “this will undoubtedly win the confidence and trust of the public and as a result they may offer the requisite information and support needed to discharge our mandate effectively.”

The passing out of the new recruits also coincided with the 70th Anniversary celebration of the female in policing. They are expected to serve a probation period of 18 months before being confirmed as Constables, subject to satisfactory conduct and performance.

Recruit Jajing Emma Yenumah was adjudged the Overall Best recruit.
