Bono Region: TEWU 'agitated' over unfavourable conditions of service

The Leadership of the Teachers and Education Workers Union (TEWU) in the Bono Region has expressed concern over the government’s silence on what it terms, poor and outdated conditions of service.

In an interview with GBC’s Radio Ghana, the Bono Regional Industrial Relations Officer of the Union, Abeaba Mathew Abereniya reiterated members’ disappointment at government’s inability to act on the many petitions sent to it.

Some agitated members of TEWU in the Bono Region are considering hitting the streets to drum home the need for Government to take remedial action to address their unfavourable conditions of service.

According to them, government has been too silent over their concerns.

The Industrial Relations Officer of TEWU, Abeaba Mathew disclosed that, leadership of the Union is disheartened following government’s failure to respond to several petitions they have submitted.

He said most union members say they have had enough and want to resort to other means of seeking redress if their concerns are not addressed.
