Nineteen people have been confirmed dead in an accident that occurred at Mile 40(Sarekyekura), near Fulfulso on the Buipe-Tamale highway in the Central Gonja District in the Savannah Region in the early hours of yesterday.
Seventeen (17) out of the nineteen (19) people died on the spot, while two others died in hospital while on admission.
The drivers of the two vehicles involved in the accident are reportedly among the deceased.
The accident involved two Yutong buses, which were carrying more than fifty passengers each.
One of them, with registration number GT 3345-16, was travelling from Kumasi to Zebila in the Upper East Region.
