The Chief Justice (CJ) Sophia Akuffo has cautioned the media against the use of electronic devices in the courtroom to transmit and receive text.

In a statement signed by the Judicial Secretary, Cynthia Addo, it notes that certain media houses have displayed pictures of parties in the courtroom on online news portals, a clear indication of breaches of earlier directive to refrain from such practices.

Other members of the media have been captured by the court’s CCTV cameras taking pictures.

The Chief Justice directs that going forward, reporters and other members of the media who fail to comply with the directive will have their equipment confiscated with additional consequences.
