A Public Health Expert, Dr. John Amuasi has lauded government’s extension of the lockdown due to the spate of the coronavirus infections now covering ten regions in Ghana.

He believes that strict enforcement of the lockdown in affected areas is key in checking the rate of infection.

Government extended the lockdown imposed on Greater Accra and Greater Kumasi by one more week from Monday, April 13, 2020.

In his sixth televised address to the nation, the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, said although the efforts have been successful, the country was not yet out of the woods.

A 14-day restriction was imposed two weeks ago on movements in parts of the country with the aim of controlling the spread of the novel Coronavirus.

The lockdown has been implemented in parts of the country where significant numbers of virus infections have been recorded.
