The Sunyani Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) prevention Taskforce has arrested nine persons at ‘Area Two’, a suburb in Sunyani for flouting the COVID-19 prevention directives and protocols.

Superintendent Haruna Alhassan, the Taskforce Commander in an interview said, Mr Joshua Dario and Ms Akosua Diana, operators of ‘Next Time’ and ‘Anadwo Yede’ drinking spots respectively were arrested because they violated government’s directives for all drinking spots to remain closed until further notice.

In addition, seven customers of ‘Anadwo Yede’ were also arrested around 1630 hours and brought to the Sunyani Municipal Police Station for not wearing nose mask and also non-compliance with other COVID-19 prevention directives and protocols in a public place, Supt. Alhassan stated.
