Former Western Regional Minister, Paul Evans Aidoo, has asked Religious leaders not to be in a rush for the lifting of the ban on social gathering, considering the rate at which the number of COVID-19 cases has surged in the past few days.

He made the call in an interview with GBC’s Radio Ghana at Sefwi Wiawso, the capital of the Western North Region.

He urged the Christian faithful to remain in their homes and pray for God’s intervention as congregating at churches will break the social distancing protocol and escalate the infection rate of the virus.

Mr. Aidoo implored religious leaders and Christians in general, to exercise restraint until the global pandemic is down, before they resume to church fellowships.

Mr. Evans Aidoo also made separate donations to 17 health facilities worth about ¢13,000.00.

The beneficiaries include Sefwi Wiawso Government Hospital, Asafo St John’s of God Hospital, Asawinso SDA Clinic and the CHPS compounds at Anyinabrim, Sui and Abrabra. He said the donations were made in response to appeals made by the health facilities and advised the public to observe the COVID-19 protocols.
