Dr Arikana Chihombori-Quao has mentioned that the future of Africa’s development resides in the hands of the youth on the continent.
Dr Arikana Chihombori-Quao, one of the speakers billed to speak at the public lecture organized by the New Africa Foundation, dubbed ‘the convention’, made these profound statements in a press briefing after the event was cancelled.
In response to the widespread rumour that the speakers for the public lecture was there to support the presidential bid and ambition of the convener, Nana Kwame Bidiako, also known as Freedom, She said they came because they were invited to address the African youth.
She also added that, the only message the speakers came with are messages of empowerment, the future and the miseducation of the African youth.
“For those of you saying we are here to support his political ambitions, that’s a damn lie. The New African Foundation specifically requested us to come and address African Youth starting with the youth in Ghana”.
“The youth gathered came from some part of Africa and even outside Africa specifically to hear the message. The message of empowerment, the message about our future, the message about the miseducation of not only our youth but us as Africans. The message about empowering our children and letting them know that now it is the time for us to do what we must do to get our Africa back”, she said.
According to her, it is about time Africans reignite the passion and true independence of the continent and reclaim all lost glory. She charged the youth not to relent but make their voices heard in the development of the continent and close ears to miseducation.
