Presiding Bishop of the A.M.E. Zion Church, Right Reverend Dr. Hilliard Dela Dogbe, has cautioned Christians to refrain from the use of the Easter festivities for partying and a show-off of nice clothes, saying it is an occasion for sober reflection of lives and appreciation of gratitude to God for salvation experienced in Christ Jesus. In his Easter message, Rt Rev. Dr. Dogbe said the commemoration of Easter is a reminder of mankind’s hope in Christ Jesus.

“Easter season causes us to remind ourselves of our hope in Christ Jesus. Our hope is that as we keep Christ in our vessel of life, we shall continually smile at the storms. Let us endeavor to keep hope alive. That hope can cause us to endure all things, that hope that caused us to push forward, keeping our focus on what lies ahead”

Rt Rev. Dr. Dogbe said although the country may be experiencing difficult times with the ravaging effects of covid 19, and road accidents Ghanaians must not despair but continuously seek God’s face in prayers.

He charged persons in leadership positions to exhibit humility and to always put the interest of those they lead, first. This, he noted, will ensure that decisions and policies initiated give hope to the people. Right Reverend Dr. Dogbe, who is in charge of the Western-West Africa Episcopal District, covering Ghana, Togo, Cote D’Ivoire, and Liberia, said Easter is an opportunity for the renewal of faith and hoped hearts will be renewed this Easter.
