Contrary to reports that there will be food insecurity by 2021 due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, Deputy Director in charge of the Savannah Agriculture Research Institute, Professor Roger Kanton has debunked those reports.

According to him, issues such as spillage from the Bagre Dam, late rains, lack of quality fertilizers and seedlings are factors that will contribute to food insecurity come next year and beyond.

Professor Kanton called on government to dialogue with farmers for the way forward.

He proposed some measures government can adopt to prevent food insecurity in the coming years.
