The General Overseer of Faith Alive Chapel International, Rev. Bob Asare has reiterated the call on Ghanaians to adhere to the precautionary measures announced by the Ghana Health Service to prevent the spread of the coronavirus in the country.
According to him, there is the need for all Ghanaians especially religious organisations to support and work together to preserve lives.
Rev. Bob Asare made the call when he led the church to donate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the Essikado Hospital in the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly in the Western Region as part of the nationwide effort to curb the coronavirus pandemic in the Region and the country as a whole.
The PPE include nose masks, surgical gloves, hand sanitizers, Veronica buckets, liquid soap, tissue, detergents, parazone, Jumbo-tissues, medium-size buckets, Sachet water, medical examination gloves, Cleaning powder among others.
Rev. Bob Asare said as front liners in fight against the virus, their personal protection is very important hence the decision to support them. He thanked the health workers at the hospital for their sacrifices in such trying times of dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic which had plagued the entire globe.
Rev. Asare took the opportunity to advice churches to comply with the President’s directive on social gatherings in other to prevent the spread and use other means to get in touch with church members. He said as Christians, the church building is not the only place to communicate with God. He urged church leaders to use other means of communicating with their members within these trying times.
Receiving the items, the Deputy Director of Nursing Services at the Essikado hospital, Madam Matilda Musah assured the public that the hospital is prepared to attend to any suspected cases of the virus.
She thanked the church for the donation.
