Chairperson of the Greater Accra Regional Chapter of Poultry Farmers Association of Ghana, Gifty Rudor has cast doubt on Poultry Farmers performing creditably at the Farmers Day Awards Ceremony.

In her view, Poultry Farmers have consistently been neglected, while Fisher Folks and Crop Farmers continue to benefit from Government subsidies.

Speaking to GBC News, ahead of the ceremony on December 3, 2021, Madam Rudor said Poultry Farmers have nothing to celebrate because the Government has neglected them.

”Our request for the government to give us a short bailout and also make sure there is availability of our inputs such as the cereal, soya bean and maize but nothing has changed. Farmers are struggling to feed their birds. She said “in terms of Poultry farmers being awarded tomorrow for the Farmers Day, I don’t think the Poultry Farmers will get awards because the working environment has not been conducive. Meanwhile, the Fisherfolks and Crop Farmers get subsidies,” Madam Rudor noted.
