Foundation donates to schools in Tamale

Tuma Prestige Foundation has donated exercise books and exercise hundreds of pupils of the Riyaal Quran and Choggu Nurul Islam basic schools in the Sagnarigu Municipality. The two schools are in deprived communities and most of the pupils come from underprivileged backgrounds.

Heads of the two schools revealed that, access to stationery is a major challenge for their pupils and welcomed the donation from Tuma Impact Foundation. 

The CEO of Tuma Impact Foundation,  Iddrisu Abdul Rashid,  disclosed that, the initiative was undertaken with support from the MP for Tamale North Constituency,  Alhassan Suhuyini.

“As a Foundation,  we are concerned about the state of education in deprived communities in the Northern Region, many of these pupils struggle to buy exercise books while backpacks are a luxury,” he explained. 

“This donation is our contribution towards breaking the cycle of poverty in these communities, because we believe in the power of education in transforming lives,” he added. 

MP for Tamale North Constituency,  Alhassan Suhuyini

The Member of Parliament for the Tamale North Constituency, Alhassan Suhuyini, who could not join in person for the donation emphasised that, as a representative of the people, he will continue to push for the total transformation of the people. “We will continue to work with all stakeholders in the constituency to uplift them from the clutches of poverty, provide good schools, enhance access to quality healthcare and increase access to portable water, ” he stressed. 

Since becoming the MP for Tamale North in 2012, Alhaji Alhassan Suhuyini,  has collaborated with local and international partners to donate books and sandals to pupils of the constituency, drill boreholes, build hospitals and school infrastructure in the constituency.
